All workshops and demonstrations will be on Saturday, September 1st and 2nd, 2023 between 9am and 4pm. Workshop registration will close on Saturday, August 26th, 2023 at 11PM MST. Classes have registration limits and may close prior to Saturday, August 26th, 2023. To ensure your spot in class, register early. Classes have workshop and material fees, Demonstrations are free.

Workshops are either Full Day ($99.95) or half-day classes ($49.95). Individual instructors may have an additional materials fee, payable directly to the instructor at the time of class. 

Spinning & Solar Dyeing Hemp Fiber with Joan Ruane

This workshop is designed for all levels of spinners who can spin on their wheel. 

Students will have the opportunity to learn how to spin several types of hemp fibers, both from the fold and the end of the fiber. They will spin both very fine and medium weight yarns all the while learning all about this fiber and its many valuable assets.  

There will also be a demonstration of how easy it is to solar dye bleached hemp fiber.

Harvest Yarn From Your Closet: Treasures Abound with Carlyn Barrus

In this workshop students will learn ways to unravel sweaters, cut t-shirt yarn, and twine sheet rope. This workshop is appropriate for anyone old enough to cut with scissors. Kids and adults all welcome!

Create a Beaded Amulet Bag with Elaine Welch

This is an easy step-by-step craft project that makes a wonderful addition to your jewelry collection or a lovely gift.

No previous beading experience necessary – not one bead will be strung.

If you have a single dangle earring that needs a new life, bring it and we will use it in class.

All supplies will be provided.

Card Weaving with Darquise Decoz

In this class you will create a small pouch for your cell phone or small items or for evening wear. No equipment needed. By using a heavy cardboard and a multitude of different colors and textures of yarn like shiny, dull, soft, feathery, ribbons or the likes, you will mix and match these together. You will learn techniques from weaving and tapestry together to build up a fabric ending up with a fabulous one of a kind piece. 


The teacher will provide all materials for this class.

Bring scissors and any extra yarns you want to incorporate in your piece, like small amounts of left over yarns or ribbons (hand spun or fancy yarn encouraged).

A Drum Carder Exploration with Nancy Wilson

Bring your drum carder to this workshop and learn all that it can do. (A limited number will be available for use during workshop for $5 rental.) If you bring your drum carder, also bring any tools that come with your carder (clamps, brushes, etc). Students may bring fibers from their personal supplies.

An Intro to Turkish Spindles with Carlyn Barrus: Learn How to Spin and Ply using a Turkish Spindle

Turkish Spindles have a lovely history and are truly versatile spindles, even making their own balls of yarn as you spin. 

Materials Fee $15 

Saturday PM

In this workshop students will learn different techniques to create a beadedrope. This is an excellent class to take in conjunction with the card weaving or amulet bag workshops. The instructor will teach a beautiful beaded rope technique and will also talk and demonstrate basic stringing technique and other possibilities with these materials.
